5 Important Tips To Handle JEE Coaching & School Together

  • May 5,2021

Preparing for any exam is a difficult task as it is. If we add the preparation for school exams and handling JEE coaching and preparing for JEE, then it becomes a strenuous activity. JEE aspirants face a lot of stress and mind-wrecking activity when they have the pressure to perform equally well in both school exams and JEE examination. Students in Class 11 and 12 are new to such a type of pressure and are new to managing time juggling these two. School exams and JEE mock tests are entirely different as students are tested on different aspects, however, the preparation path for the two is pretty similar.

In this article, we will share with you 5 important tips that will help you handle JEE coaching and school together.

  1. Planning and organisation

Juggling between school and JEE requires efficient planning and sticking to the plan. Make sure you allocate time for both school studies and JEE preparation. Simply looking back at what was taken in class will not add value to your preparation. Self-study and regular practice are what will help your preparation. Allocate time separately for self-study of both school lessons and topics taught in JEE coaching. Ensure that you stick to the timetable that you prepared and stay consistent in your preparation.

  1. Choose the right coaching institute

A key factor that plays an important role in your preparation during Classes 11 and 12 is the coaching institute you enroll in. Choose the right institute by analysing various factors. Check the history of the institute and the traveling distance from the centre to your home because it is wise to not spend too much time travelling. Select the institute which conducts many tests and has an optimum teacher-student ratio. These are all important aspects when you prepare for JEE.

  1. Weekdays for school work and weekends for JEE prep

Long hours at school in Classes 11 and 12 will be draining and you will find it difficult to manage both school and JEE on weekdays. So, an option would be to manage your school work during school days as soon as you finish school and carry on with your JEE preparation during the weekends. Weekends will give you the whole day to yourself, thus you will have undisturbed and continuous hours to focus freely on JEE.

  1. Do not ignore one for the other

Schoolwork and JEE are both important. One is not less than the other. The right way would be to strike a balance between the two, such that you do not prioritize one over the other. Some students make this mistake and focus more on JEE, thus ignoring school, which is a huge mistake. School lessons form the basis for JEE preparation, so it is important to have equal focus on the two. This will help you get a strong foothold in your JEE preparation too.

  1. Keep distractions at bay

Social media is the biggest distraction that will collide and affect your preparation plan. Some may say that this will help them relax in stressful times. But this is a wrong notion. Starting out with a few minutes on social media will end up in hours of social media scrolling. This will prevent you from sticking to your schedule and you will end up postponing your study hours. Ultimately, there will be a pile-up of study lessons to be completed.

We hope these tips will be useful for you in your preparation for JEE and school exams.

All the best for your learning journey!
