7 Successful IITians that are at the helm of Global Corporations

It is a well-known fact that getting admission at IITs is one of the most challenging tasks and requires dedication, hard work, and sincere efforts.  The graduates of IITs have left no stone unturned and have left an everlasting mark on the world with their skills and potential.  These people have inspired generations of students either by their confrontational business style or by their out-of-the-box use of technology.  Their success stories are known to the world and have paved the path for others to innovate and go beyond their horizons. 

Here are 7 most successful IITians who have set an example for the world-

1. Sundar Pichai- Sundar Pichai is one of the most successful and renowned IIT alumni.  He graduated from IIT Kharagpur in Metallurgical Engineering.  He is currently serving as the Senior Vice President at Google.  After graduating from IIT Kharagpur he pursued M.S. from Stanford University and holds an MBA degree from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He is the man behind Google Maps, Chrome, Android, and other Google products that have made our lives easy. 

2. Sachin Bansal- Sachin Bansal is an IIT Delhi graduate and is the co-founder of one of India’s largest online stores Flipkart.  He co-founded Flipkart back in 2007 along with his college friend Binny Bansal and created history.  They harnessed the use of technology and innovation for providing seamless services at the backend. 

3. N.R. Narayana Murthy- He is among the most successful IITians to date.  He is also known as the Father of Indian IT and is the co-founder and ex-chairman of Infosys.  He pursued M.Tech from IIT Kanpur after graduating from the University of Mysore and has been awarded Padma Shri and Padma Vibushan for his tremendous contributions. 

4. Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah- Both Deepinder and Pankaj are IIT Delhi graduates and are founders of our favorite food delivery app, Zomato.  They came up with the idea of starting with Zomato while they were working at Bain & co.  Their startup has gained worldwide recognition and operates in more than 20 countries at present.

5. Pranay Chulet- Pranay Chulet is the founder of Quickr and is a chemical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi.  Quickr was a unique startup and served as a platform for buying and selling goods across 10 different categories.  The startup currently operates in around 1000 cities in India and is used by over 30 million users. 

6. Nikesh Arora- Nikesh Arora is an electrical engineer from IIT (BHU) Varanasi.  He is a successful icon of the business world is currently serving as The Vice Chairman of SoftBank Corp. and CEO of SoftBank Internet and Media, Inc.  He has also worked with organizations like Putnam Investments, Fidelity Investments, and Deutsche Telekom. 

7. Vinod Khosla- He is an electrical engineering pass out from IIT Delhi and has been listed by Forbes magazine as a billionaire.  He is one of the founders of Sun Microsystems, the creator of the Java programming language and Network File system.  He is currently operating his venture capital firm, Khosla Ventures.
